新年禮物

即使家中字典快要氾濫成災，Haruka 還是忍不了手……


幾年前已想買 Longman Language Activator (字典)，惟總是懶洋洋提不起勁，直到去年書展，儘管在 Longman 地盤發現 Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English 附送 Longman Language Activator CD，依舊是搞搞震無幫襯；事隔半年，有人忽地積極進取，著好友蛇果小姐給我想辦法以低於巿價弄一本回來。

Being laid back，有時也會帶來意外收穫。

拿著坊間抄來、2005年版長人字典 ISBN，交給蛇果，好讓她發給有關人士跟進訂單。有關人士一查，即發現新一版已於2009年新鮮出爐，兼且附送功能強勁的 DVD 乙只！

感謝蛇果，感謝有關人士，星期二才訂貨，星期四便書到我手，還要是門巿尚未見踪影的最新版加上平到你笑的開心價，真是 my favourite 新年禮物 ever!

第一時間拿出 DVD 安裝，非常忐忑不安，害怕未能跟那個該死的 Vista 兼容。等呀等……Installation finished!!! 感謝上天！

沒錯，由始至終 Haruka 覬覦的是那 DVD！字典本身倒不是最大 concern。:p


內附的 Longman Language Activator，助你區分幾個意思相近但當中有微細分別的字/詞/phrase。

剔除、排除、撇除……這些字詞運用起來當然得心應手，不用細想甚麼情況下用A，甚麼情況下用B。

Except for, other than, apart from…這些中學作文課不時會用，但又從來無深究其用法。

字典本身嘛，解釋略嫌簡潔了些，幸好有 DVD 大大彌補不足，既有 collocations 也有 thesaurus 及 example bank 以供參考。Terrific!
